Before we begin

  • The solution described in this article will only disable ShortPoint on a given page temporarily. It will not remove anything from your page at all. As soon as you activate it again from the site settings, you will start seeing your page the way it was before.
  • This option only works for SharePoint 2013/2016 On-Premise environments.  If you are using ShortPoint SPFx for the Office 365 or SharePoint 2019, then please refer to Disable ShortPoint on a Page Using URL Parameter (Office 365/SharePoint 2019).

Step by step guide on how to disable ShortPoint on a SharePoint page

Take a look at this guide on how to disable ShortPoint on your page.

Step 1:  Locate SharePoint Site Settings

Navigate to the page where you want to disable ShortPoint.

Go to Settings. Then, click Site Settings from the dropdown.

Locate Site Settings

Step 2:  Look for Site Collection Administration

Under Site Collection Administration, please click Site Collection Features.

Click Site Collection features

Step 3: Deactivate ShortPoint

Clicking Site Collection features will take you to a page where you can manage the accessibility of your site. Search ShortPoint through the list or you can also do CTRL + Find (Ctrl key + F key) to easily locate it.

Click Deactivate to disable ShortPoint.

Deactivate ShortPoint

Note:  By clicking Deactivate, it will temporarily disable ShortPoint on the specific page but it will be enabled again once you activate it. It should not affect any of your customizations or setup on the site.

That's it. You should now see that ShortPoint Design Elements have been disabled on your SharePoint page. To enable it again, please follow the same steps and click Activate on the Site Collection features.
