Goal: Place a footer on a classic page.
For example, "© Copyright 2017 Company Name"
For example, "© 2017 Company Name. Privacy Policy (a link) Privacy Shield Employee Privacy Policy (a link)
1. Will Shortpoint 5.0 have footer options to complete this goal on classic pages? We are ware this would not, currently, work on modern experience.
2. If we make a slight, smart edit to seattle masterpage to add a footer, would the shortpoint responsive button still work well?
3. If we make a copy of the seattle masterpage, make slight edit for footer and we call the masterpage "seattle with footer" would the shortpoint responsive button still work well?
4. Do you have any ideas?
We looked at a javascript inject or the SharePoint-hosted add-in option but see long term viability issues, minimal download strategy feature turned on issues and its most likely inability to work on modern experience.

Footer is one of the features in ShortPoint branding. But it will not be part of this month release.
You will be able to to the exact example you shared, and more complex examples as well.

Editing master page should not break ShortPoint branding feature. Unless you change the structure of the page entirely, used your own CSS to customize it heavily.
I suggest to add the footer now, and we test it with the new branding tool.

Minimal download strategy support was one of the requested features by our customers. ShortPoint works with or without it.
The same product you are using today is being used by SAP Cloud Portal customers. There is no Minimal download strategy there :)
We are building ShortPoint Webpart powered by the new SharePoint framework, that you should add first to the modern pages before you can start using ShortPoint.
This is the same experience our SAP customers have today. Watch here.
